The Xian Beauty Jujube combines beauty with excellent fruit quality. Native to China, where jujubes have been grown for over 4,000 years, this cultivar is named for its elegant appearance and highly desirable fruit.
Ripening in mid-autumn, Xian Beauty produces medium-sized fruits that are crisp and refreshingly sweet when fresh, with a clean, apple-like flavour. Left to dry, the fruit develops a chewy texture and rich, caramel-like sweetness, earning it the name "Chinese date." Excellent for snacking, baking, teas, traditional preserves, and drying for long storage.
Compact and graceful at 12-15 feet tall, Xian Beauty fits well into smaller gardens and can even be grown in a large container with regular pruning.
Hardy to Zone 5, Xian Beauty thrives in full sun, likes a warm location, tolerates drought once established, and begins bearing at a young age.
