An heirloom rhubarb variety with very large leaves, thick, red stalks and flavourful, green flesh. A healthy, vigorous grower, filling in any sunny spot and providing delicious stalks all spring and early summer. Very high yields. Excellent fresh or preserved.
Rhubarb recipe idea: Simmer cut rhubarb with sugar and a small amount of water to create stewed rhubarb. Then fill freezie bags (sponsored link) with the stewed rhubarb and freeze. Stewed rhubarb freezies are such a treat in the summer! And so much flavour!!!
