Skirret is a cold-hardy perennial root vegetable grown for its sweet, white, carrot-like roots.
Thriving in full to part sun and loose, fertile soil, it produces clusters of slender roots best harvested after frost for peak flavour.
Easy to grow and low-maintenance, skirret is a great addition to edible perennial gardens, food forests, and historical plant collections, as it has been cultivated for 1,500-2,000+ years.
