'Puget Gold' Apricot Trees
'Puget Gold' Apricot Trees
The Puget Gold apricot is a cold-hardy, disease-resistant variety, ideal for regions with wet spring conditions. It produces medium-sized, golden-orange fruit with a sweet, rich flavour and firm flesh, perfect for fresh eating, canning, or drying. This self-pollinating tree is productive, ripening its fruit in mid to late summer. With its reliable yield and adaptability to cooler climates, Puget Gold is a favourite among home gardeners in the Pacific Northwest.
Our Puget Gold Apricot trees come on semi-dwarf root stock, which means the trees will only reach 15-18 feet tall at maturity.
Protecting peaches, nectarines and apricots from rain in spring is crucial to prevent peach leaf curl, a fungal disease that thrives in wet and cool conditions. We recommend planting these trees in a location where they will get lots of sun and heat, but be protected from rain. An example would be up against the south wall of a home, under the overhang of the roof.
