Kinnikinnick (Bearberry) Plants
Kinnikinnick (Bearberry) Plants
Kinnikinnick, also known as Bearberry, is a low-growing evergreen shrub that bears red edible berries that are mild in flavour and a bit mealy in texture. Traditionally eaten by Indigenous peoples, they were often dried or mixed with other foods.
Kinnikinnick is a very hardy ground cover and can be used as a bank stabilizer to control erosion. Kinnikinnick also tolerates light foot traffic, making it a suitable lawn alternative.
