Imoto Fuyu is an early-ripening Japanese non-astringent persimmon prized for its sweet, crisp fruit and reliable performance. The medium to large, flattened orange fruit can be enjoyed while still firm like an apple or allowed to soften slightly for an even richer, honeyed flavour. Unlike astringent persimmons, the fruit can be eaten before it is fully soft, making it an excellent choice for fresh eating.
This attractive tree produces vibrant orange fruit in autumn, often remaining on the branches after the leaves have fallen for a spectacular display. With its relatively early ripening season, Imoto Fuyu is well suited to cooler climates where later persimmon varieties may not fully mature.
