‘Frost’ is the go-to peach tree for gardeners in the Pacific Northwest and other cool, wet regions where peach leaf curl devastates many peach varieties.
Developed by Washington State University, ‘Frost’ was specifically bred for its strong resistance to leaf curl, a fungal disease that can cause severe leaf loss, weakened trees, and poor crops. While no peach is entirely immune, ‘Frost’ reliably produces healthy foliage and good crops without the need for repeated chemical sprays—making it one of the best low-maintenance choices for organic and home growers.
Beyond its resilience, ‘Frost’ delivers medium-to-large, yellow-fleshed freestone peaches with excellent sweet flavour, ripening mid-to-late summer.
The tree grows vigorously, bears heavily, and is self-fertile, so you only need one to enjoy harvests. For gardeners in the PNW who have struggled to grow peaches, ‘Frost’ is widely recognized as the most dependable variety—combining delicious fruit with disease resistance where it’s needed most.
