Variety and Size

Flavourtop Nectarine is a high-quality freestone variety prized for its exceptionally sweet, juicy fruit and reliable production.

Ripening in mid to late summer, Flavourtop produces large, firm nectarines with smooth red skin and golden-yellow flesh that’s bursting with rich, aromatic flavour. Excellent for fresh eating, baking, preserving, or drying, it’s considered one of the best-tasting nectarines for both home gardens and small orchards.

This vigorous, self-pollinating tree grows to about 12–15 feet tall, thrives in full sun (6+ hours per day) and well-drained soil, and is hardy to Zone 5.

With its combination of outstanding flavour, attractive fruit, and dependable yields, Flavourtop remains a favourite nectarine for gardeners looking to add a touch of orchard sweetness to their landscape. In competitions, this variety is consistently ranked among the top varieties for flavour, hence Flavourtop!

Protecting peaches, nectarines and apricots from rain in spring is crucial to prevent peach leaf curl, a fungal disease that thrives in wet and cool conditions. We recommend planting these trees in a location where they will get lots of sun and heat, but be protected from rain. An example would be up against the south wall of a home, under the overhang of the roof.
