LOCAL PICK-UP
After placing your order, we will be in touch to ask you which day you'd like to pick it up from our nursery in Errington, B.C. You will then be able to pick up your order at any time on the prescheduled pick-up date. Pick-ups can be scheduled for any day of the week, but we ask for 24 hours advance notice.
If choosing to pick-up from our nursery, items must be picked up within 10 days of a regular order being ready or within two weeks of a preorder being ready.
SHIPPING
Most items in pot sizes 1 gallon or smaller (under 7") are available for shipping to most Canadian provinces, from September to May. Shipping is at the customer's risk and expense.
We do not ship June, July and August due to heat during transport.
We currently ship to B.C, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador. We do not ship to other Canadian provinces or territories. We do not ship to countries other than Canada.
We use Canada Post and UPS to ship our plants and products. Orders requiring shipping usually go out once per week, at the beginning of the week, to avoid packages being stuck in transit over a weekend.
Once shipped, delivery timing will depend on the carrier and shipping option you select, but it is usually:
- 1-3 business days within B.C.
- 2-4 business days to Alberta and Saskatchewan
- 2-8 business days to Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces
Transit times may be longer if you live in a rural area. We are not responsible for carrier shipping delays.
Autumn olives cannot ship to Alberta or Ontario.
Shipping Fees
Our shipping fees include packing supplies (box, tape, fasteners, support stakes, caution labels, etc.), the carrier service fee and the time it takes us to pack boxes. We put a lot of effort into ensuring each box is packed as securely as possible.
Shipping Service and Liability
We ship via Canada Post and UPS. These carriers do not guarantee the safe shipment of "living organisms," which includes live plants. By ordering from West Coast Plants and choosing shipping, you are taking the risk that the carrier does not deliver the order on time or in the same condition in which it was sent. Essentially, you are asking us to ship your order and you are taking the associated risk of using that service. We are no longer responsible for items once they have shipped and all sales are final.
In our experience, shipping via Canada Post and UPS works very well and plants arrive in excellent condition. We ensure your plants are carefully packaged and secured, and boxes have proper ventilation holes and are marked as containing live plants.
Shipping Quotes Subject to Change
Our website's shipping program will do its best to provide an accurate shipping quote based on your order and location, but large orders may require shipping in two or more boxes. If this is the case, we will be in touch to ask you to cover the additional costs. We do not aim to make money on shipping - we just need to cover the additional carrier fees, time and supplies.
AVAILABILITY SUBJECT TO CHANGE
The majority of our inventory is live plants, so their size, quality and health can change over time. That means regular and preorder stock is subject to availability and plant condition. If we cannot fulfil your order, we reserve the right to cancel that part of your order and provide a full refund for the unavailable item(s).
CANCELLING ORDERS
Regular orders of in-stock items can be cancelled any time before they are picked-up or prepared for shipping.
Custom orders and bulk orders cannot be cancelled.
Spring 2027 preorders can be cancelled based upon the following timing:
- Before March 1, 2027: receive a full refund, no cancellation fee.
- March 2, 2027 - April 1, 2027: receive a full refund, less a 10% cancellation fee.
- After April 1, 2027: receive a store credit.
REFUNDS
Please see our Refund Policy.
MISSED PICK-UPS & RESTOCKING FEES
Regular orders should be picked up within 10 days of being ready and preorders should be picked up within 2 weeks of being ready.
If you do not pick up your regular order within the stated time frame, we reserve the right to cancel your order and refund your money, less a 10% restocking fee. If you do not pick up your spring preorder within the stated time frame, we reserve the right to cancel your order based on the spring preorder cancellation policy outlined above.
If you won't be able to make your pick-up date, get in touch ahead of time and we'll do our best to be accommodating. Holding plants longer in the cool season is much easier than mid-summer, when plants need daily watering.
FALL 2026 PREORDERS
Fall 2026 preorders of items such as bare root tubers will ship from November 2026 to April 2027, depending on when they are ready and the weather during transport. Most tubers cannot freeze, so shipments to colder regions may be held until late April.
SPRING 2027 PREORDERS
Spring 2027 preorders will be shipped or ready for pick-up from approximately April 2027 - June 2027, with the majority of items ready in early to mid-May. When your items are ready, you will receive a pick-up or shipping notification. Spring 2027 preorder pick-up orders should be picked up within 2 weeks of being ready.
