The Northland blueberry is a hardy, half-high blueberry variety known for its excellent cold tolerance and abundant, flavourful fruit.

Northland blueberries can withstand extremely cold temperatures -34°C (-30ºF), making them an ideal choice for northern or colder regions.

Northland is a compact bush, growing about 3 to 4 feet tall, with a spreading growth habit. Its small size makes it suitable for both gardens and containers.

The berries are medium-sized, dark blue, and have a sweet, wild blueberry flavour. Northland is known for producing a heavy crop of berries, often yielding up to 20 pounds of fruit per mature plant.

The berries ripen midseason, usually in July, and are ideal for fresh eating, baking, or freezing.

Northland's foliage is dense, with glossy green leaves in summer that turn vibrant shades of red and orange in the fall.

Blueberries like acidic soil with good drainage, so prepare and amend your planting location ahead of time, if possible. We sell an organic soil acidifier that can be added to your soil to gradually reduce the pH.

Be sure to see our blog post: Why Blueberries Need Acidic Soil to Thrive.

Northland blueberries can be self-pollinated, but will produce more fruit and larger fruit if pollinated by a different variety.
