The Neverella Fig Tree, also known as Osborne Prolific, is an exceptional variety known for its adaptability to cooler coastal climates and its ability to thrive in containers or partially shaded areas. This medium-sized fig tree produces delicious fruits with brown skin and opalescent flesh, ideal for eating fresh, preserving, or canning. The flavour is reminiscent of honey and caramel.
The Neverella Fig Tree is a relatively pest-resistant fig, and capable of yielding substantial harvests, typically maturing to about 8-10 feet in height and width. Its compact size, along with its ease of growth, makes it a favourite for gardeners looking to add a productive tree with flavourful fruit to their gardens or food forests.
Neverella figs require cross-pollination with a caprifig (wild fig) by figs wasps. Fig wasps to not normally live in the Pacific Northwest, so cross-pollination by hand will be required to set fruit.
